GENNY'S VINEYARD
Chardonnay
Winemaking Information
From the use of natural yeast & modest oaking, extended
sur lee aging and bottling without filtration and fining,
John Kongsgaards wine making style favors minimal intervention.
The resulting wine has great varietal integrity, flavor intensity,
complexity and structure -an expression of the grape rather
than the ego of the winemaker.
Tasting Notes
Continuing in a long line of big, complex Chardonnays,
The 2002 Genny's Vineyard is rich and multi-layered. From
its initial aromas of ripe pineapple, papaya and hazelnut
to its lingering flavors of pineapple and ripe melon, this
wine fairly bursts with character. The intense richness is
counterbalanced by a bright natural acidity and the spicy
nuances of oak.
